We gathered up some of our favorite take-home folder ideas from teachers around the web. We hope they help inspire you in your classroom this year. Folder templates streamline the process of making sets of folders to organize your client documents. Have folder templates ready to go to quickly apply to new and existing accounts. You can even be super proactive and include the documents and forms your clients will need inside them.

Add as many documents as needed to the different top-level folders. For example, add accounting, bookkeeping or tax templates to the Private folder and a service agreement to the folder with Client can view access. This take home folder helps kids and parents stay organized in a really easy way. Your students can trace their hands in different colors and then paste them to the inside of the folder.
If you want a specific template to be applied automatically, set it as the default. This way, it will be applied to all new accounts created manually or via import. Click inside the Apply Folder Template field, select the template in the menu, then click SAVE to keep your changes. Once the automation is added, you’ll see it by going to the pipeline page and clicking the automation icon above the stage. Folder templates can be applied to both new and existing accounts. Folder templates are created by a firm owner, admin or any team member with access rights to manage templates.

Here is an example of the reading log and behavior log to communicate with parents. Once you've found a class set of awesome folders, it's time to get them labeled. I put the kiddos name on the front of the folder. If you don't have your class list yet, just skip this step.

When you add new accounts to TaxDome , each automatically gets a folder template named Default Tax Years. Once a job moves to a stage with an Apply Folder Template automation, a pop-up will appear showing the automation about to be be triggered. Or access this page by selecting the Apply Folder Template automation while creating or editing a pipeline, then clicking New Template.
Now you can add documents and forms to folders. If you want clients to have specific documents, add them to the folders. Drag-and-drop them or click Upload documents. Or upload several documents from a folder by clicking Upload folder. In the Create Folder Template window, you’ll see three top-level folders .
I've tried them on poly folders and they seem to fall off. On the back of the folder, I have a label with my name and room number on it incase another teacher or student finds it in the hallway or on the bus. This part is totally optional, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to have it on there.
Click on the text boxes and change the text to fit your needs. You can even add your own special clipart to make it even more personalized, if you want. If you start shopping the Back to School sales in July, you can get a class set of folders for a couple bucks. In fact, do yourself a favor, and buy about extra folders because undoubtedly you will get a few new students during the year or some folders will be lost or damaged. Don’t let the “bulk” of a binder dissuade you from using one as your take-home folder. This blog, Teaching with Haley, explains why a binder has been a great solution for this teacher. She gives step-by-step instructions on how to make the home-school organization easier.
